Dear CFBSA Member,
Our First Annual Spring Bash Tournament was a
great success for our Association and I know all
the players had a great time!
The
Bash Committee
worked extremely
hard to make this
a success and I
could not have
even have had it
without the many
hours dedicated by
the Committee!
The 102 teams
we had was way more than we thought could happen,
and I have to credit all of our CFBSA teams that
signed up to support our Association to make this
such a great win for us and our community!
Even though we had a lot of teams from other
associations and even teams that traveled from
Tyler and Waco, our teams made this a success that
I know we can build on
next year. We made some mistakes this
first tournament, but I know that we will be
better prepared next year as I believe that we can
get to 160 teams next year and we will have the
new fields up front so we can run more games at
once which will allow us to handle more teams.
One thing we will need next year would be a lot
more Field Marshall’s so
please volunteer to help in that area
so we can make sure that things flow smoother next
year and have a larger presence out at the fields.
I would like to announce that three of our
CFBSA teams won a Championship in their age
bracket! The U-10G
Angels, U-13B The Crew, and the U-14G Kicks!!
In fact the Kicks have as a coach one of our
board members Chuck
Sloper, and they did not give up a goal
the entire tournament!
I want to also mention that if your team
participated then your team is also a winner even
though you did not win a trophy! This was a
great experience
for our teams that have not played in a tournament
before. I talked to several that had not and said
that their players really had a great time and
learned about playing in a Tournament and felt
that it was special!
We had a lot of U-8 and below that I know
really had a great time and all received a
beautiful medallion
to remember the First Spring Bash Tournament!
I look forward to the Second Annual Spring Bash
next year and hope that even more teams will sign
up from CFBSA!
